Accreditation

Accreditation

As you make your phone calls, ask the providers if they are an accredited program. Here is why:

Accredited family child care homes and group child care centers have taken steps to measure up to standards of quality set up by national child care organizations. Programs that are accredited have gone beyond minimum licensing standards. They have made a commitment to follow strict guidelines for providing a higher quality of educational and developmental services for children.

Massachusetts EEC Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS)

QRIS is a method to assess, improve and communicate the level of quality in early care and education and school age settings. As you make your phone calls, ask what QRIS level the program is at. The creation of the MA QRIS engages programs, educators, families and communities in the quest for what is best for our children.
